You're overcomplicating LinkedIn
Here's how I simplify this in 4-steps

Building a personal brand shouldn’t feel like punishment. But it can feel that way.
You’re showing up.
You’re posting.
You’re “doing everything right.”
But nothing’s moving.
That’s the trap of a Sisyphean brand strategy:
Effort without clarity.
Consistency without alignment.
Activity that feels like progress… but isn't.
Here’s how to break the cycle (without burning out or wasting more time):
1. Audit your brand foundation.
Ask yourself:
- What do I want to be known for?
- Is this showing clearly in the last 10 posts I’ve published?
- If someone scrolled my profile for 15 seconds, would they get it?
If the answer is no, start there.
2. Revisit your content lens.
Before you post, ask:
- Does this help, teach, or challenge my audience?
- Am I solving the real problem my ideal client is thinking about?
Use the HRC filter:
Help. Relevance. Credibility.
If your post doesn’t hit at least two out of three → rewrite it.
3. Track what’s working (and what’s not).
Don’t just create… review.
Each week, ask:
- Which post got the most DMs, not just likes?
- Which format performed best (text, video, carousel)?
- What felt right to share, and what felt forced?
This is where growth lives: in the data you’re ignoring.
4. Stop copying trends, start building themes.
Pick 2–3 brand themes and rotate through them.
Example:
- Industry insights (what you're seeing behind the curtain)
- Personal experience (lessons learned, decisions made)
- Client wins or audience value (case studies, how-tos)
This creates both structure and trust.
Great branding isn’t just about visibility. It’s about positioning.
Ask yourself:
- Am I seen as a voice of experience, or just another content creator?
- Do people associate my name with a problem I solve?
If the answer is unclear, it’s time to reposition.
You’re not burned out from effort.
You’re burned out from effort without traction.
Stop pushing. Start recalibrating.
